From Frustrated to Free 🤩

I was done.  Tired of trying on my own. Tired of feeling frustrated and not getting the results I wanted.

A few days ago I was reflecting on working with Nate Shaw, an elite athletic performance professional and MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks Strength & Conditioning Coordinator—because it’s been re-energizing and life-changing!

I had:

  • Cleaned up eating and increased physical activity—multiple times

  • Become discouraged & fallen off track due to lack of seeing results

  • Gone to medical professionals looking for answers—only to leave empty handed

I am grateful for the amazing life I get to live and the extra weight was emotionally dragging me down.  I was unhappy inside and tolerating disappointment felt like being imprisoned.

In March – I was in Colombia, South America – dreading getting ready, uncomfortable in my clothes – I watched an interview of Nate and heard what he was powerfully creating.

April 23 – After six amazing weeks in South America, I flew home from Perú committed to getting transformation.

April 24—I called Nate.

April 25—I committed to an 8-week program with him and his team.

And now, one month in, here’s what I’ve learned:

Top 5 Reflections:

     1. Working harder doesn’t always work better.

Rather than working harder Nate and his team bring me back to the basics. Weight loss really is 80% what you eat—that’s a fact! Although I’m still working out, I’ve worked out a lot harder in the past and gotten less results than now.  There was a time when working harder worked, now it’s about learning to work smarter.

     2. I’m creating new habits.

With real-time support and feedback, I’m learning how to change for the long haul.  These habits have overflowed into my family and teaching the girls the importance of good habits and nutrition….that’s priceless in itself.

     3. Support is everything.

You know I say the mind is tricky, it knows all the backdoors. With support I’ve seen exactly where I would’ve slipped into old patterns and doubted the process and on my own would have switched things up. It’s clear where I would have judged “this isn’t working,” OR, “I’m not getting results fast enough.” These still come up and when they do Nate and team are there to guide and direct.  Having the right team is important - even the best surgeon is unable to operate on themselves.

     4. I’m the only one who can truly advocate for my health.

I was looking on the outside for answers and got “hormones,” “aging,” and “this is just part of life.” All with an undertone of “accept it.” With the changes I’ve made issues like bloating, heartburn, and insomnia to name a few have all significantly improved.  A reminder of no one is coming to save me or you.

     5. The beginning of something big.

I am so grateful because in just one month, I feel amazing physically, mentally, and emotionally – and it’s just the beginning!  Choose You. Commit.  That’s where your freedom begins.

Freedom Unleashed Takeaway:

Freedom is choosing fulfillment over settling. Transformation started when I stopped tolerating and sought support.

What would change if you stopped settling and truly committed to yourself? What kind of support would help you get that?
