Free & Clear

Your energy is more important than you might think.

I had an open item in the back of my head that was weighing on me, something I said I would do without a specific time commitment.  It was open ended.

It had been sitting there for six months now…

I know… WHAT?! Why so long?!

Because I said yes to something where the invite was loose and open, and honestly, I didn’t want to disappoint or look bad by saying no in the moment.

I knew it too, I was unaligned.

So why was it weighing on me if the other person wasn’t following up or reaching out to schedule a date?

1) Because I am that my word matters.

I love that people can count on me to do what I say I’m going to do.

More importantly, I love that I can count on me to do what I say I’m going to do. Both of these build trust and confidence in powerfully creating in your world.

It’s how I do all that I do: travel, run businesses, powerfully serve people through coaching, create and manage Soul School, and be present with my family.

My life runs smoother when I’m conscious of what I say yes and no to, because for every yes, I’m saying no to something else.

I do my best to create clear agreements over being loosey-goosey with my commitments.

I have a friend who, when she says something, I automatically think “that’s not going to happen.”  It’s because she has a history of saying things and not following through on majority of them. I say that with no judgment, it’s a fact that I can't count on her.

I value being someone that I honor my word.

2) My energy is one of my most valuable assets.

If my energy is being drained or weighed down, I’m leaking power throughout my life.

Like in this example, I’d think about it, feel bad about it, try to talk myself into “just doing it” to be my word.  This adds up and impacts how I feel which can leak into frustration, being irritated, or avoiding things.

I have a distinction called Being Free & Clear.

It means your energy is clean, nothing weighing on you or bothering you.

If your energy is free & clear, you are free & clear.

I was not free & clear on this matter and I wanted to be. Now, it would have been easier to text or send an email.

And my goal wasn’t taking the easy route, it was to be free & clear.

I wanted to avoid miscommunication, delays, and unnecessary back and forth.

So, I called to have a live, real-time conversation.

It sounded like this:

“Hey Name, when we spoke six months ago, I committed to coming and doing X with you. After reflecting on it, I’m clear it’s outside of my highest level of service.

Now, if this is something where you’re saying, ‘Hey, it would really help me to have you come and teach XYZ,’ then I’ll be there to help and support you.

And, if this was an invitation you thought would help me, I’ve gotten clear this is outside of my highest level of service, and I need to rescind my commitment.”

He sounded surprised of the conversation and thanked me for following up. He stated it wasn’t a request for help; it was an invitation to serve.

And, then he shared something new he’s working on and opened the door for us to connect in the future where there may be something to collaborate on.

And BOOM.

I honored my word by cleaning it up.

I restored wholeness for both of us.

So now, no more worrying about it.  And, anytime I see him, there’s no awkwardness of “I didn’t do something” or “you didn’t do what you said you’d do” lingering energy.

I was Free & Clear!
